Linking maize yields in Veneto Italy, to large-scale atmospheric variability, circulation regimes and weather types

Abstract This paper describes the relationships between large-scale modes of climate variability and its related weather types with fluctuations in yield maize crops Veneto, Italy. The teleconnections analysed this work are winter North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) summer (SNAO); West African monsoon (WAM) Intertropical Front (ITF). Despite that these indices not rigorously linked to one another, they result being considerably atmospheric circulation regimes associated types. They have an impact on temperature precipitation patterns Italy yields a region located northeast Yields strongly affected by temperate tropical directly through three main regimes. Troughing produced below average temperatures depress over entire Veneto region, as does zonal regime affects rainfall. Results confirm relevance crop Veneto.
